He tweeted: “Redmi Note 3 users will start receiving MIUI 9 stable update starting from today, but not everyone will get the update same time. It may take 48-72 hrs for you to get the update.”
It was only a few days back that Xiaomi announced a list of 40 smartphones that will be getting the MIUI 9 update and today, Redmi Note 3 users will be one of them.
The list of supported devices include all the major Xiaomi smartphones even some of those dating back from 2012. But sadly, Xiaomi is yet to roll out the MIUI 9 Stable ROM for its 2016 Redmi 3s and Redmi 3s Prime smartphones.
If you own a Redmi Note 3, you can check out for the latest MIUI 9 updates. If you haven’t received the update notification, you can head to the Updater app to check the status of the MIUI 9 Global ROM. In case you don’t see the update, don’t worry as Xiaomi has said that not everyone will get the update at same and you should receive it a day or two.
To recall, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 was initially launched in November 2015. The smartphone comes with a 5.50-inch FHD display with 1080 by 1920 pixel resolution. The Redmi Note 3 is powered by 1.4GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
As for the optics, there’s a 16MP primary camera on the rear and a 5MP selfie shooter up front. The device is powered by a 4050mAh non-removable battery and has microSD card support for expansion up to 128GB. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 came out of Android 5.1 out of the box.
Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 is now already available for Mi 5, Mi Max, Mi Max Prime, Mi Max 2, Mi 3, Mi 4, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4, Redmi 5A, Redmi Y1/Y1 Lite. More devices will get MIUI 9 update soon, so stay tuned.
